Mr. Hector Portillo and his wife Margarita de Portillo, moved from the Capital City to this city, and founded La Antigueña Factory and Silver Shop, famous because of its quality and good service, where could be found articles and jewelry carried out in silver 925.

The Portillo grandparents introduced to La Antigua Guatemala the art to work the silver by hand and create jewelry pieces really unique, teaching to the most part of artisans and craftsmen from this city for more than four decades. They worked and improved the silver work preserving something else than clients, friendships.

Pablo Castellanos Portillo one of the youngest grandchildren of the Portillo grandparents starts the process to learn the task and tradition of the silver and jade. With his 28 years Pablo is the only member of the family that has continued the business in jewelry, following the basic principles that his grandparents taught him, like innovating in techniques and designs to give you a classic silver shop and at the same time renewed.
